Data Use Disclaimer

The Sasquatch Data Project (SDP) compiles and analyzes publicly available witness reports and related information from multiple open-access sources, including but not limited to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), the North American Wood Ape Conservancy (NAWAC), and other publicly posted regional or archival databases.

Only factual or derived information—such as date, location, environmental context, behavioral descriptors, and other structured variables—is extracted for research and analysis.

Earlier publicly shared versions of the dataset may have unknowingly included portions of copyrighted witness report text from source materials. These inclusions were made solely for research and educational purposes under a good-faith understanding of fair use and were fully removed upon notification and review.

All current and future versions of the dataset and related publications contain no copyrighted text, imagery, or original witness narrative content. The SDP dataset and analyses are independent, derived, and transformative works created solely for non-commercial, educational, and scientific research purposes, in compliance with U.S. copyright law and fair-use provisions (17 U.S.C. § 107).

All source websites are used only to obtain publicly viewable factual information. The Sasquatch Data Project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the BFRO, NAWAC, or any other organization whose publicly available materials are referenced for factual data extraction.
